Introduction

Opening in 1950, the predesessor of the school, Hoshiyakugaku vocational school was established by Hajime Hoshi who played an prominent role in the pharamaceutical industry of Japan in the Meiji and Taisho periods. The gingko trees spanning from the main gate to the front lecture hall is beautiful in the summer and fall.

Cultural Property Description

As an adept proprietor, Hajime Hoshi founded the staff education division for Hoshi Pharmaceutical Company which was established in 1911. The main building was completed in 1924 by Czech architect Antonin Raymond. It is a landmark building in an area that has largely escaped war damage. (The campus is not open to the public)
