Introduction
Spanning 1.3km from east to west, this is one of the longest shopping streets in the Kanto region. After the Great Kanto Earthquake, bricks from Ginza were transferred here and it became the first shopping district in Japan to incorporate "Ginza" in its name.
Cultural Property Description
The shopping street was made in a valley running east to west on a plateau. The ground was not very good due to the location, and after the reconstruction following the Great Kanto Earthquake, the leftover bricks from Ginza were transferred here. It came to be the first place in Japan to incorporate "Ginza" in its name.
