Togoshi Park

Introduction
The park was built from the garden remains of the villa of the Hosokawa family from the Kumamoto domain. It is a "Kaiyu-shiki" style garden which is centered on the pond, and it retains the image of Daimyo's gardens with valleys, waterfalls, and man-made hills.
Cultural Property Description
In the mid 17th century, a grand garden was built as a villa by the Hosokawa family of the Kumamoto Domain. You can see traces of the villa in the park's pond and mounds.
