Historical and attractive buildings

The old residence where the founders of Sugino Gakuen spent their lifetimes. It was donated to the school after the death of the couple, and is now open to the Sugino Memorial. The design was done by Shigeichi Sugino who studied architecture in the United States. One of the highlights is the stained glass in the former drawing room, entrance, and staircase. The interior is laid out in an art deco style, with parquet floors and neatly designed radiator boxes. You can also see the second floor that was not open until now.

* Art Deco = a design style that was popular all over the world from the 1920s to the 30s. The feature is that it uses a lot of linear and geometrical images.
