Introduction

There are about 400 shops in a shopping district that goes about 1.3 km across the station, and shoppers are full of vibrancy even on weekdays. It is unique that the name of the shopping district is the station name, but since the customer's aim is also the shopping area, it is often to ask the recommended shops. There are many popular shops loved by locals, such as fruit shops, fresh fish shops, prepared foods, with land patterns that values human-human relationships. It is fun to eat the Togoshi Ginza croquette selling at each store as a specialty. Various events are held in shopping districts, including "Drunkie Baru" where you can enjoy a variety of shops' bar menu. Please also pay attention to the mascot's silverware "Togoshi Ginjiro".

Historical and attractive buildings

The first station building that was used for about 90 years since it was opened in 1927 was reborn in 2016 as a second wooden station building. It features a home roof that uses a wooden scissor truss structure and a steel frame. Timber from Kitama, Tokyo, is used, contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions during construction and the maintenance of mountains. Through workshops in which local residents participated, messages to the first station building are left behind the benches and on the memorial board.
